Karin from marketing works from home, the printer plays up. The office manager connects briefly, checks printer settings, done. Karin doesn\'t have to drive in.

Office server maintenance

The NAS or the small Linux VM needs updates. Unattended access after-hours, all logged in the session history.

Onboarding new staff

New laptop, new staff member. You connect remotely, set up email, VPN, printer — without the new hire coming into the office.

External accountant on your data

The trustee needs to access the accounting PC. Pro plan: temporary read-only access only for this one host. No VPN setup required.

We have Mac, Windows and a few Linux servers. Does it all work?

Yes, from version 0.5.0 onwards. Windows 10/11, macOS Apple Silicon, Linux x64 (Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora/RHEL) and Pi OS on Pi 4/5. One account, all platforms.

Do we need an IT staff member to run WinDesk?

No. Management or the office manager can create the WinDesk account, take out the Pro plan, invite staff via email. Setup of the devices (host install) takes 5 min per device — no IT knowledge required.

What does WinDesk cost for a 30-person SME?

If only one office lead runs the sessions: Pro CHF 29.90/month is enough (1 user + 100 hosts included). With two IT leads: + CHF 4.90/month = CHF 34.80/month. No tier bundle, no surprises.

How does privacy work for our customer data?

Servers in Switzerland and the EU. Lightnet Multimedia GmbH is a Swiss limited-liability company, no US CLOUD Act. Screen data never travels through our servers (P2P). For data-processing-required workloads: standard DPA available in the portal.
