ScreenCaptureKit (not legacy CoreGraphics)
The modern macOS capture API. It handles the system screen-recording indicator natively — while carrying system audio (music, calls, system sounds) in the same stream (not in service mode).
Permission flow without app restart
The helper wizard asks once per permission (Screen Recording, Accessibility). Toggle in System Settings, the background daemon picks up the change — no app quit, no black screen, no lost session.
Sign-in bound to the Secure Enclave
The host’s sign-in is bound to the Mac’s Secure Enclave, and every pairing is additionally tied to a hardware fingerprint of the host.
Apple Silicon native
Native arm64 builds for Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). No Rosetta translation, no performance hit. WinDesk transmits the picture with its own lossless screen codec and the sound with Opus.
Auto-update, signature-verified
The Tauri updater checks daily, downloads minisign-signed packages, and updates in the background. No sudo, no App Store, no ads.

- macOS 13 Ventura or newer (tested on Sonoma 14, Sequoia 15)
- Apple Silicon (M1 or newer); Intel Macs are not supported
- Permissions: Screen Recording and Accessibility (granted once on the first helper connect)
- Internet — pure P2P; only the connection brokering runs over our Swiss server, screen data never reaches it. If both sides sit behind symmetric NAT, a direct connection may not establish (no media relay, by design)
